I am an HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am an Associate Fellow of the BPS (AFBPsS), and a member of the BPS register of supervisors (RAPPS).
I offer psychology and psychotherapy to adults in Temple EC4Y, within easy reach of Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon, Chancery Lane, Holborn, St Paul's and Fleet Street. I also have an occasional base in Highgate N6, within easy reach of Kentish Town, Tufnell Park, Hampstead, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, and Archway.
Please feel free to contact me.
My practice is focused on listening, and creating a space for exploring, understanding and help. I have been working with adults in NHS primary and secondary care settings and in the charity, education and private sectors in a voluntary or paid capacity for just over ten years.
As a counselling psychologist, I am trained in solution-focused and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) approaches, including ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CFT (compassion focused therapy) and mindfulness. My practice also encompasses ideas and principles from other approaches, particularly psychoanalysis, existentialism and phenomenology.
I hold a professional doctorate in counselling psychology. This was a four-year training involving learning different kinds of therapy, working in placements in the community, research, reflective practice, and personal therapy, and followed a degree in psychology.
Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I have held several academic posts, including at London Metropolitan University and City, University of London. My current post is at Regent's University London where I am Head of Programme for the doctoral programme in counselling psychology. I am interested in psychotherapy research and publish papers in this area from time to time. You can read more about my research here.
Before retraining in psychology and counselling psychology, I worked in management consultancy and business development for some years. My first degree was an MA in Classics and Philosophy. I am still very interested in these topics - for me, psychotherapy and philosophy seem to go hand in hand.
Thank you for your interest. Please feel free to contact me.
